9/16/2023 0 Comments Sweetheart memory picturesThank you for sharing your story Bill and how sad to have lost so much in the fire, but nothing can take away your memories:) Hi Bill, thank you for your kind words and love, I am a bit overwhelmed by all the kindness shown by our CW friends and happy that they too were comfortable to share their own stories here. Sincerely appreciate the love Johnsmith, thank you:) Such a wonderfull post that you have shared with all of us !! Thank you !! Thanks to everybody, for your words on Judy's post! :^) It's hard to imagine, in this day, with News Reporters on the Battle fields live. Even all the letters and Telegrams that he sent back home to his Parents, were censored, with black ink, over times, places, and Ships, that he wrote about. My father would tell about the places he went during the War, but I think it was ingrained into them, that "loose lips, sinks ships" so much, that many tried not to remember. Navy during WWII also, though out the Pacific, and took many photographs, but sadly they were all lost, when my Sister's home burned in the Santa Rosa, Calif. Thank you so much for the post! Ms.CrystalShip(Eileen), my Father served in the U.S. What a wonderful thing to do, for the memory of your Uncle, who gave his life, fighting to keep the World free! 75 years after your Uncle's death, and an honor for him, that is shared by us all now. Hi Judy, I'm glad this came up, I hadn't seen it yet. I'm glad you liked the photo and frame too and yes, it was Mum's treasure:-) Thank you. Hi Karen, so sad that so many young men lost their lives, and those who returned could not speak of it. Thanks Jenni, he was so handsome wasn't he, and this is a gorgeous photo of Mum, and yes I am looking more and more like her when she was older, and I can hear myself sounding like her too lol:-) I love the picture frame emblem too, have a couple of them now with service photos in. Thanks Roy, appreciate your kind comment:-) I'm sure your Mum really valued the brooch Judy. The photo of your uncle is great, and the frame is a special classic. My dad was in New Guinea also, a terrible place of war, but like most he never talked about it. Lovely photos & WW2 mementos Judy, I am very sorry about you losing your uncle in the war, he was so handsome as Mom was beautiful (you favor her in looks, yes?) And really love the Aus rising sun emblem on the photo frame Very special photos Judy! Your moms a doll :)
